Delete your data
Most of what Recoteca keeps is on your phone. Here's how to delete everything, wherever it is. The full details are in the privacy policy.
Delete your account
If you signed in with Apple or Google: open Recoteca, tap your picture at the top right of Home, then Profile → Delete account.
- Your account, your backed-up list and your linked Instagram details are deleted from our server straight away.
- You leave every shared list. Other people keep the lists they're still on; a list goes when its last member leaves.
- Posts you shared stay counted in Trending, but without anything that links them to you.
Unlink Instagram
If you linked an Instagram Creator or Business account: Profile → For creators → Unlink Instagram. We delete your Instagram username and account ID. We never keep Instagram's access token: it's used once, when you link, to read your username.
You can also remove Recoteca from Instagram itself: in Instagram, Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites, then remove Recoteca.
Delete what's on your phone
Remove any title from your list in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on the phone.
Without an account
Recoteca keeps a short record of the posts shared from your install, to show Trending, under an anonymous ID. To have it deleted, email [email protected] with your Support ID (Recoteca → Settings → About, for example amber-otter-3f9a2c). We delete it within 30 days and reply when it's done.
Usage statistics use a separate random ID that isn't linked to you, your account or your Support ID, so we can't single yours out; they're deleted after 13 months. To stop sending them: Settings → Privacy → Share usage statistics.
